Lost on the Road to Oblivion, The Vanishing Beauty of Coal Country

Friday, September 16th – Please join Appalachian Voices and The National Committee for the New River for a reception to celebrate the new photography exhibit by Appalachian native Carl Galie.

Galie, a West Virginia native, calls this exhibit a homecoming for him. The project focuses not just on the destruction occurring in his home state but on the beauty of coal country and what we stand to lose from the devastating practice of mountaintop removal coal mining.
