From Matt Windsor, Pilot Mountain State Park Superintendent:
“I would like to remind climbers of our regulations pertaining to pets in the park. All pets must be leashed and attended. Lately we have had an increasing amount of conflicts between visitors disregarding this regulation and blocking the trail with their dog so that other climbers and hikers have to walk over their tied and unattended dog to pass by. If you feel you are not able to comply with this regulation then I suggest you leave your dogs at home. I realize that people are very protective of their pets but I don’t think it’s fair to the animal to be tied up and stepped over all day while their owners climb.
