Victory! EPA Vetoes Largest Proposed Mountaintop Removal Mine in West Virginia

Against intense political and industry pressure, the Environmental Protection Agency officially vetoed Spruce No. 1 Mine, which would have destroyed over 2,300 acres and six miles of headwater streams. Healthy Opposition to Proposed Virginia coal plant

Three health groups are concerned with how a proposed Hampton Roads coal plant’s pollution will impact the health of children, the elderly and those with respiratory problems, and are pushing the city of Virginia Beach to pass a resolution opposing the plant.
