My wife and I traveled to Rocky Mountain National Park in June. We met one of my best childhood friends out there and his family. They have 3 kiddos, and it was fun to camp and hike with them all.
We took several good hikes, maybe 8 miles round trip longest (carrying the kids proved best for shorter hikes). We had a bit of rain that was welcome since it was quite hot during the days. The pine beetle blight has really decimated the forests out there, so what was green is now dead and orange-brown. The Rockies will have a lot of new growth over the next 100 years.
It was neat to get above 10,000ft and still see a lot of snow. Can’t wait to get back to Colorado!
