Not everyone is fortunate enough to live within 10 minutes of Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and within 30 minutes of Wilson Creek and Linville Gorge. So, I thought it might be interesting to offer some video reporting on some of my favorite hikes in the area. That way, during your lunch break one could daydream about the hike they’ll do next time they visit. Or, for someone that is visiting some of these hiking areas for the first time, perhaps this offers some insight for where to go first…
I’m interested in your feedback, so please let me know what you think!
My favorite hike on Grandfather Mountain is one that takes 5-7 hours round-trip, depending on how aggressively you want to hike it. I enjoy long hikes, and this one is a great workout. On the accompanying video, I indicated which trails are used, which turns to take, etc. A map of Grandfather Mountain’s hiking trails is available on www.Grandfather.com. We also have them for you to pick up for free at Footsloggers in Boone and in Blowing Rock.
Enjoy! And again, I would love any feedback you can offer.

Awesome 12 minute video. Are you for hire with a group on a 5 – 7 hour hike. How many miles was the video. I realize the up and downs.
