Over 500,000 Americans asked the EPA to implement mercury safeguards for our waterways and consequently, the fish we consume. Mercury is a known neurotoxin- and coal plants are our biggest source.
So why are some members of Congress supporting H.R. 2401, The Transparency in Regulatory Analysis of Impacts on the Nation (TRAIN) Act? The TRAIN Act would delay implementation of the Utility mercury rule and other clean air and water protections.
The answer is simple: While stopping mercury pollution is good for both our health and our economy, it’s not good for Big Coal’s profits.
Contact you member of Congress today using the form below today- a vote on the TRAIN Act is expected to happen THIS Friday.
